The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is looking for qualified professionals to fill six positions as Examinations Officers: Applied Sciences, Business & Technical Education (KNEC Grade 7). If you are passionate about advancing Kenya’s education standards and meet the required qualifications, this is your chance to make a difference.

What the Role Entails

As an Examinations Officer, your duties will include:

  • Participating in curriculum development and aligning syllabuses with examinations and assessments.
  • Training exam setters and moderators.
  • Setting, moderating, proofreading, and approving test papers and assessment tools.
  • Ensuring the security and confidentiality of examination materials.
  • Implementing recommendations from Chief Examiners and improving processes to align with quality management systems.

Who Can Apply

To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Educational Qualifications:
    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education from a recognized institution, OR
    • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education, OR
    • A Higher Diploma in a relevant field along with a Diploma in Technical Education.
  2. At least four years of teaching experience in Applied Sciences, Business & Technical Education.
  3. Proficiency in computer applications.
  4. Fulfillment of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (integrity and ethical standards).

KNEC is looking for individuals who demonstrate:

  • Strong time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work in a team.

Contract Terms

The positions are on a one-year contract basis, with a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the role’s responsibilities.

    • Names and contact details of three referees.
